Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport Shatters Land Speed Record ( 431 km/h) for Production Car.

On July 3rd , 2010 - The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport achieved a new land speed world record for production cars with an average top speed of 431 km/h.

The test was conducted in front of the German Technical Inspection Agency and a representative of Guinness Book of Records.

Two test was conducted, in the first test the car achieved an overwhelming speed of 427.9 km/h.

In the second test, the car run much faster clocking 434 km/h. The car performed better than what Bugatti Team has expected out of it.

According to Chief Engineer, Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber Bugatti in a press release, “Initially we will target speed 425 km / hour. However, the sunny weather allows we drove over”

The driver of the world record car was Bugatti´s official tester, Pierre-Henri Raphanel.
